Radiant Industries Inc., a California-based startup, raised more than $300 million to commercialize its small reactor design as surging demand for electricity drives up interest in nuclear energy.

The Series D funding round was led by Draper Associates and Boost VC, according to a statement Wednesday, and values the company at more than $1.8 billion.
